Lord's Prayer Poesy

$46.75

One of the most well-known doxologies is this small hymn appended to The Lord’s Prayer, as it appear in some manuscripts of the Gospel of St. Matthew. The version used here has been taken from the Book of Common Prayer of 1662. It has been engraved on an unusual pendant shape, which by its very nature suggest the eternal — forever and ever.

The goemetric form is known as the Mobius strip, after the German mathematician August Ferdinand Mobius It represents the seeming paradox of a plane without end, or of infinite length.

Poesy: n. (arch.o r poet) short poem or sentiment decoratively inscribed or on ring or jewelry, particularly in the Middle Ages. Usually a romantic gift or token of friendship. [f. Middle English f. Old French poesie from Latin poesia from Greek poesis: making poetry]
